Hello Kuala Lumpur, departure day

This is our last day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Almost time to start a new adventure at a new place. But first let us enjoy our last official day here in Kuala Lumpur, I mean half day.

We woke up, got all freshened up, and start with the packing. Glad we did some of the packing yesterday. Even though we had a busy final full day in Kuala Lumpur.

Time too check out and of too the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, KLIA2.

This time we decided to order a GRAB, it is much easier and cheaper than the normal taxi. Okay we forgot to check that we needed a bigger car, because of our suitcases. So because of this, the GRAB car was way too small. Our bad.

Well thanks to the friendly porter from Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade who helped us order a new GRAB. But this time with enough space for our big luggage. I must say Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade is really a great spot.

Not only location wise, also the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room we got at Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade was spacious enough and very clean. Like most of the bigger hotel brands, also at Accor Hotel you can now choose if you want a towel change for every day. Or even you want your bedsheets changed while they are cleaning your room. Or you just want the bed being made up.

Unfortunately we didn’t use the swimming pool with the sky view they had at Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade. Hahaha we were really too busy exploring the amazing city of KL.

But I think the next time, when we visit Kuala Lumpur. And can manage to book again at this great hotel. We will definitely make usage of all the facilities they have to offer at #MercureKualaLumpurShawParade.

Again a great hotel Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade to book and stay.

Okay well the flight, well that is a whole different experience.

So as we mentioned in “Hello Kuala Lumpur. Preps preps preps”  we used Skyscanner to book our flight tickets. We always end up coming back to #Skyscanner and we took the second cheapest yet fastest airline flight options that was available, in our case it was Qatar Airways.

We heard from people great things about #QatarAirways. But also when you see a commercial from Qatar Airways, well they always say in that commercial, or as stated on a billboard commercial, that Qatar Airways was Airline of the year 2019. Even claiming “World’s best Business class”. Well we weren’t flying with business class, so I guess that’s why the service was not that good, to put it nicely.

We wrote a review on Tripadvisor, “First and last time flying with Qatar Aiways… ” and also we made an official complaint on their website. Their response was that they were going to look into the issue and will give us a feedback as soon as possible. Well that was in 2019, and this writing is 2020, still no answer.

Okay to make a long story short, and give Qatar Airways a review here on our website TIAWOT.

Really poor service on all four flights. From AMS to DOH, from DOH to KUL. And back from DPS to DOH, and from DOH to AMS.

Lack of communication between the stewards and nothing was going organized. Also there was no customer experience to be found, main reason it was just too chaotic. So we experience, bad service, bad and undercooked food (twice), poor quality equipment and not even an excuse or a reaction back per mail. You could almost say that the in-flight crew members on this flight, well except for the pilots, that they didn’t know which way they were going.

So yeah definitely the first and last time flying with Qatar Airways. And again we are one of the lucky ones who can afford flight tickets. And even afford  holiday once in a while. But also we work hard for it. And when you as an airline claimed to be the best. Well show it. Even in the smallest things.

Well, that’s enough complaining about the Qatar Airways.

This was our first time visiting Kuala Lumpur and we must say, it was really a great experience. The people of Kuala Lumpur, really nice and friendly. Also a lot of different cultures living together. So rich in history, architecture and of course food.

Malaysia is a Muslim country but you don’t hear a mosque. They do have mosques there, and some are really beautifully created. Not only do you have Muslims there, but people with all different kind of religion live together. Respecting one another.

A few days visiting and exploring Kuala Lumpur is just too short to see everything Kuala Lumpur has to offer. Well to be honest. It was a little bit own my fault, because I’m always getting excited when we travel somewhere. I just wanted to make the most out of our time staying there. And try to see as much as possible and want to do a lot more. Cause my head was always like: you never know when you will be back here. Well in this case, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

But now looking back at our stay here in beautiful KL. I think for future travel it might be better if we could stay longer or just adjust our planning so we can really enjoy the location we are exploring.

So we’re definitely coming back to explore  and enjoy more of KL. Or better of Malaysia. We had a really good experience, if you want to go to Asia but somehow too scared, well KL is one of the cities in Asia you can go to. A modern city with diversity of people and there is something to do for every person.

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia thank you for the hospitality and a great experience.
